Acting On Camera: A work-out class for actors with on-camera experience as well as actors looking for a “crash course” in camera technique. If you are making the transition from STAGE to SCREEN, trying to figure out what this film acting thing is all about, looking to improve your audition skills and experiences or searching for ways to do “character work” on camera, this class is for you. Exercises, improvisations, interviews, original and scripted materials will be used.
Gail Cronauer began her Dallas career with the groundbreaking Stage One and has worked at theatres across the metroplex, including Dallas Theater Center, Undermain, Kitchen Dog, Echo Theatre, WaterTower, Shakespeare Dallas, Theatre Three and Circle Theatre. Career highlights: Maria Callas in Master Class at Lyric Stage (Dallas Critics and Column Awards), Richard in Richard III (Off-Broadway’s Judith Shakespeare Company) and Ruth in The Norman Conquests (Stage West). She has been honored by the USA Film Festival for her work in, among others, JFK, The Newton Boys, Te Ata, Walking Tall 2, Boys Don’t Cry, Carried Away. Still to be released: Kreep, Undying, The Vast of Night, Sleeping in Plastic, Texas Cotton and Rump (animated feature). Television credits include Revolution, Dallas, The Substitute Wife. Gail is a member of SAG-AFTRA (she serves on the local board) and Actors Equity (she is a member of the DFW Liaison Committee). She is a certified Michael Chekhov technique instructor and teaches at Theatre 3 and STAGE. She also teaches Acting on Camera and leads the theatre discipline at Collin College. She is represented by The Campbell Agency.
