The weeklong camp will consist of film/commercial acting, improv, stage combat, how to audition, and some basic knowledge of camera and lights.  The students will be given a short scene and a commercial to work on throughout the week. 

At the end of the week, the students will put their scene and commercial on tape. The weeklong camp will conclude on Saturday, June 23 at 5pm with a premiere of everyone's work for family & friends to see. 

Students will need to bring a cold lunch with a drink (no microwave).  Bottle water will be provided.

Camp instructors (subject to change) will include local teaching/industry professionals Jeff Fenter, Greg Michniak, & Bryan Chatlien.


Jeff Fenter is a working actor based in Plano, Texas. He has appeared in feature films, network and cable television and has acted on stage since he was eleven. Jeff started in film and television in 2000 and appearances include, most recently CLAWS on TNT, HELLRAISER: JUDGEMENT, NCIS NOLA, BREAKING BAD, and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, to name a few. Jeff has been in several national, regional, and local commercials.  His recent credits include DAIRY QUEEN, RIVERWIND CASINO, GAMESTOP, CAPITAL ONE, and SAMSUNG MOBILE, and he’s currently filming BETWEEN HEAVEN’S SHADOW, TV pilot and a web-series that he and his wife, Elizaebth Fenter, created called MAKIN’ IT.

Gregory James Michniak started his stage experience at the ripe old age of 3 singing “Rhinestone Cowboy” to a packed auditorium. Since then he has been active in theatre, dance, sports and singing every year of his life on stage where he performed in over 25 musicals.

During his Junior and Senior years at North Garland High School Gregory competed in and won back-to-back National Championship Titles in Cheerleading. At Richland College Gregory performed in or was a crewmember for every theatrical production produced during his 2 years there.

During his years at The University of Texas at Austin, Gregory was a light board operator and stage manager for The Public Domain Theatre in downtown Austin. He also auditioned for and was selected to the BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) acting program. In his second year at The University of Texas at Austin, Gregory earned a Departmental Scholarship for Outstanding Undergraduate Acting Student.

While graduating from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Acting Concentration Michniak built his first theatre company, Austin Performance Ensemble. This company produced four full productions in its first four months of existence. Of those first four productions Gregory produced two productions, one of which he directed the other he was the stage manager and light board operator, and performed in the two other productions. Gregory then went to Los Angeles for two years to work in the entertainment industry. Since then Michniak has gone on to be apart of Ameristage Players that is currently producing shows in the Dallas area as well as earning his Masters of Arts in Teaching with a multi-sensory concentration. Gregory has also earned his Texas State Certifications to teach theatre (EC-12) and 4th-8th Generalist.

Gregory taught and directed theatre and stage combat for eight years at the June Shelton School and is currently teaching at St. Pius X Catholic School.
